Members, guests and visitors are required to respect the following dress code as authorised by the Clubs Directors
GENTLEMEN’S DRESS CODE ON THE GOLF COURSE
- Only shirts with collars and golf shirts with round stand necks may be worn.
- All shirts must be tucked into trousers/shorts. Any person who has a problem with this rule must see the Professional before teeing off
- Smart tailored shorts of a respectable length may be worn with either knee length or short sports socks worn at the correct length, which are either predominantly white or are matching the rest of the outfit being worn. For example, black shorts, black socks with black shoes.
- Jeans styled trousers may be worn in corduroy and lightweight fabric other than denim. For example, beiges, creams, greens, and browns.
- Plus 4s and Plus 2s are allowed.
- Hats must be worn with the peaks at the front unless designed differently.
THE FOLLOWING ARE NOT ACCEPTABLE
- Cargo/Fatigue Trousers (pockets down the legs and zip off to shorts styles).
- Any denim, tracksuits, football or rugby shirts and similar sports shirts, t-shirts, sleeveless or collarless tops apart from those mentioned above.
- Trousers tucked into socks.
IN THE CLUBHOUSE
- Apart from on formal occasions, when Jackets with Collar and Ties should be worn, conventional, smart casual wear may be worn in all parts of the Clubhouse.
- Only shirts designed to wear outside of the trousers, may be worn that way. All other shirts must be tucked into trousers.
Failure to observe the Dress Code will result in the offender being asked to leave the Clubhouse or the Course.
LADIES’ DRESS CODE ON THE GOLF COURSE
- On the Course the ladies are requested to wear appropriate, recognised golf wear.
- Jeans style trousers are acceptable but must not be denim.
- Tops that are made to be worn outside the waistband are acceptable. However, these tops should sit on the hips, not come down to cover the tops of the thighs.
THE FOLLOWING ARE NOT ACCEPTABLE
The following are not recognised as Golf wear by this Club and will not be acceptable to wear on the course
- Brief shorts.
- Sun tops, sleeveless tops that have t-shirt necks, rugby style tops.
- Denim-wear,
- Tracksuits, tight fitting leggings, trousers that have pockets down the side, trousers that zip off to become shorts.
- Training shoes.
- Hats worn back to front.
- Trousers tucked into socks.
Failure to observe the Dress Code will result in the offender being asked to leave the Clubhouse or the Course.
THE FOLLOWING ARE NOT ACCEPTABLE IN THE CLUBHOUSE
- Training shoes, denim-wear, tracksuits, football and similar style sports tops.
- Hats or waterproofs.
- Damp or soiled golf attire.
- Shoes designed for use on the Course.
- Golf bags, trolleys and other equipment are not permitted in the Clubhouse and must not be left in the corridor between the Gents and Ladies locker rooms.
Members are reminded that these rules are in place to uphold the traditions and standards of their Club and it is up to each member to maintain these standards and to point out to any person who does not reach these standards, that the Dress Code Rules must be followed as strictly as they would a Rule of Golf.
GENERAL ADVICE
- Guests of members are required by law to sign the visitor book. (This does not include those paying temporary membership fees).
- Member’s tee-times are displayed on the information board situated behind the 18th Green.
- Reserved tee-times are shown on the board situated outside the Gents/Ladies Locker Room Corridor. Please refer to these boards before playing.
ON THE GOLF COURSE
- Please rake bunkers, replace divots and repair all pitch marks.
- Keep the flow of play continuous by calling players through if you lose more than one hole on the players in front.
- Temporary Membership tags to be clearly visible on golf bags.
- Members and Visitors must not throw litter onto the course or over the boundary fences.
Safety of people on the course is your concern. Do not intimidate players in front by playing your ball whilst they are in range and remember to give a shout if in doubt about the direction of your shot.
Should you have any suggestions to improve our Club’s standards and image or wish to express concern, please raise it in the first instance with the Club Executive Secretary or with the Chairperson of the respective committee’s.
