Ladies Charity Cup Success!!!

Monday 6th September 2021

On Saturday 4th September, A & L hosted the Preston & District Ladies Charity Cup and we are thrilled to report that the event was a huge success. The Ashton & Lea ladies played really well and won the team of 12 and the team of 4. Jeanette Smith won the best gross score and Pat Horn recorded the 2nd best nett score. Congratulations to all the team, Jeanette Smith, Gill Smith, Jacqui Bennett, Janet Ollerenshaw, Karen Whiteside, Andrea Kershaw, Donna Dadsby, Sabina Hughes, Alison Wake, Dee Duxbury, Pat Horn, Cathy Widdows. Proceedings ran smoothly and the visiting ladies commented positively about the course, the friendly welcome and the organisation.

Covid Procedures Updated.

Covid Procedures at Ashton & Lea Golf Club.

On the Course

  • Before, during and after your rounds you must respect the social distancing measures.
  • Flag Sticks must not be removed.
  • Ball cleaning stations will not be in operation.
  • Bunkers will be in play; however, you will be allowed to lift and place within 6 inches. Please repair the bunker as best possible after you have played your shot.
  • Please do not exchange scorecards and we also advise that the usual golf etiquette for e.g., handshakes should not occur.
  • On completion of your round, please follow the designated routes to the car park.
  • The Driving Range and Short Game Areas are available. Tokens can be purchased from the pro shop.


Pro Shop

  • The Pro Shop will be open for normal retail services, a maximum of 2 customers in at one time will be in operation. Please be advised that face coverings must be worn at all times.



  • Locker room and toilet facilities will be available. The locker room code is 5432.
  • Showers will not be in operation.
  • Indoor Hospitality will be available.
  • Face coverings must be worn at all times until seated at a table.
  • Hand sanitising units will be located around the clubhouse.
  • Members and visitors must sign in using the Track & Trace code or NHS App on arrival.
  • A one-way system will be in operation at the main entrance.
