The Greens Team recently had the pleasure of welcoming Ryan Lilley, one of our junior members and a pupil at Ashton Community Science College, for a week of work experience at the club.
During his placement, Ryan got hands-on experience with a wide range of tasks including driving large mowers, cutting holes, raking bunkers, and even tackling some weeding. His enthusiasm and willingness to learn made a strong impression on the team.
Ryan has now taken on the role of Head Boy at his school this term – a testament to his leadership qualities and dedication both on and off the course.
Greens Chairman Andy McClelland praised Ryan’s contribution:
“Ryan showed maturity well beyond his years and a fantastic work ethic throughout the week. It’s inspiring to see a young member so keen to get involved, and he really restores your faith in the next generation.”
The club congratulates Ryan on his achievements so far and wishes him every success for the future. As Andy added:
“Ryan will always be welcome back at Ashton & Lea, and we’d be delighted to see more young members following in his footsteps.”
