Charity Cup Glory for Ashton & Lea’s Stephen Helm
Ashton & Lea’s own Stephen Helm claimed the Individual Winner title at the Charity Cup 2025, held at Shaw Hill Golf Club.
The competition brought together teams from seven Preston and District clubs, each represented by 12 players, creating a strong field of 84 competitors. Despite tricky conditions and playing away from home, Stephen rose to the challenge, and his victory is all the more impressive given his lower handicap, making the achievement even more remarkable.

Speaking after his victory, Stephen reflected: “I am pleased to come away with a win in the Charity Cup playing away from home in what were tricky conditions at Shaw Hill GC. After a few injuries over the past few years it’s been a journey — thankful the outlook is more positive so I am glad to contribute something positive back to the club while representing the team.” |
