The Lancashire Open EDGA Tour 2025 made history this September as it was staged for the very first time in Lancashire, hosted at the prestigious Lytham Green Drive Golf Club. The event, part of Lancashire Golf’s Championship for Golfers with Disabilities, welcomed players from across the region for two days of competition in challenging weather conditions.
Ashton & Lea Golf Club were proudly represented by two of our own members – Davinia Barton and Jake Graveson.
For Davinia, this was not only her first-ever disability golf competition, but it also proved to be a landmark moment in her golfing journey. She played with great resilience and skill across the back-to-back rounds, navigating heavy rain and soft course conditions to be crowned Women’s Champion – an outstanding achievement in her debut event.

Reflecting on the experience, Davinia said:
“I’m really chuffed – especially with the rain, the soggy course, and playing back-to-back rounds. Everyone played brilliantly. Lancashire Golf and Lytham Green Drive put on a fantastic competition and really looked after us all.”
Jake also showcased excellent golf throughout the championship, competing strongly in the nett category. While the silverware just eluded him this time, his commitment and determination reflected the spirit of the event and the pride of representing Ashton & Lea.

As a club, we could not be prouder of both Davinia and Jake for overcoming challenges, embracing the competition, and representing Ashton & Lea Golf Club with such passion. Their achievements underline the inclusive nature of our sport and serve as an inspiration to all golfers.
