Fylde Society of Lady Golf Captains 65th Annual Golf Day

Saturday 31st May 2025

Captain Helen Smith of the Fylde Society of Lady Golf Captains (FSLGC) hosted a spectacular event on Monday 12th May 2025 at Ashton & Lea Golf Club, welcoming 82 ladies from 12 clubs across the region. Despite a cloudy start, the sun shone on a beautifully presented course, thanks to the greenkeeping team. With support from the Ashton & Lea ladies and senior gents, the day featured competitive golf, a vibrant halfway house, and a charity raffle that raised £700 for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust, Heartbeat, and Guide Dogs for the Blind. The event concluded with a three-course dinner and a prize presentation celebrating impressive scores across two divisions, with top honours going to Gill Jolley (Penwortham) and Amanda O’Rourke (Blackpool Park). Captain Helen expressed her gratitude to all who made the day memorable and looked ahead to the Society’s Annual Luncheon at Ribby Hall in November.
